Program Description
The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration program is designed to give current and future healthcare administrators a baseline from which to grow their skills as leaders. The program will integrate theory and practical application through online assignments, projects, and discussion threads. The Mission of AHU is to develop skilled leaders who will practice healthcare as a ministry and while living the healing values of Christ.
The benefits of providing this program are threefold:

Providing updated and continued training for those who are already in healthcare administration.

Providing a proving ground for those who may be interested in AHU’s Healthcare Administration graduate degree programs.

Spreading the mission of AdventHealth: “extending the healing ministry of Christ” globally through the Graduate Certificate Programs.
Mental and Physical Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the certificate program must:

Be able to speak in a clear and concise manner.
-
Have communication abilities sufficient to interact professionally with others in verbal and written form.

Possess critical thinking skills sufficient to think clearly and act appropriately in stressful situations.

Possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with individuals, families, and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.
Admission Requirements
Candidates for the program must have previously graduated with a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution. To apply to the program, candidates must:

Have a minimum GPA of 3.00

Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
Progression
In the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration Program, students will be deemed to be making continuous satisfactory progress toward the certificate when they:
-
Complete all scheduled courses with a grade of ‘B’ or better. One course with a grade of ‘C’ is permitted.

Achieving as second course grade of “C” requires students to repeat the second course in which the grade of “C” was awarded. No more than two courses may be repeated, after which time the student will be academically dismissed from the program.

Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.00, on a 4.00 scale, or better in all program coursework.

Maintain current licensure and employment in a healthcare related field.
Completion
AdventHealth University will consider students for graduation with a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration when they have:

Met the general requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration.
-
Completed all required courses in the certificate program with grades of “B” (3.0) or better.
-
Completed all required courses in the Certificate Program curriculum within 12 months of their acceptance into the program.
