Introduction


This handbook is designed to acquaint the employees of Adventist University of Health Sciences with policies, practices, and benefits as they exist at the time of publication. The information herein is believed to be accurate, but the University reserves the right to make such changes as circumstances demand and to alter, revise, or eliminate specific policies, practices, and benefits at any time.

Adventist University is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adventist Health Systems DBA/Florida Hospital. Thus, ADU employees are employees of Florida Hospital (see Ownership and Administration section) and are, therefore, essentially covered by the Florida Hospital Employee Handbook. However, additional benefits and responsibilities accrue to those employees working at Adventist University, and this handbook is addressed specifically to its differing benefits and responsibilities.
