4.1 AHU Required Events

Employees are required to attend University Faculty/Staff meetings, Graduation, Convocation, Mission Week and Mission Check meetings.

4.2 Faculty Workload Policy

The Faculty Workload Policy describes standard workload expectations to assist Department Chairs and/or Vice-Chairs/Program Directors in setting faculty loads and responsibilities that allow faculty to accomplish the quality and quantity of work for which they were employed.  The policy helps ensure consistency from one department to the next and from one faculty member to the next.  The policy also helps ensure faculty resources are effectively employed to support the University’s primary instructional mission and to support the variety of work instrumental to accomplishing the University’s mission.  See Full Workload Policy.

4.3 Professional Associations and Certifications/Licensing

Faculty members are encouraged to actively participate in professional associations and certifications/licensing. As part of the budget approval process, the departmental budget may provide reimbursement for faculty to do so. See Professional Association/Society Participation Policy

4.4 Student Advising

Faculty will be assigned as academic advisors. An electronic Academic Advising Manual is available for each faculty member who advises students in designing an appropriate course of study.

Students admitted to a program may be required to have an initial meeting with their program advisor before being able to register.
