NRSG 170 - Childbearing Family Nursing (3)

Prerequisites: BIOL 102 , BIOL 225 , RELP 103 , NRSG 130 , NRSG 105 , NRSG 140 , NRSG 135 , NRSG 150  
Corequisite: NRSG 180 , NRSG 205  
The course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the provision of primary and secondary prevention and strengthening the childbearing family lines of defense related to environmental stressors. ASN students will provide care for the patient experiencing stressors affecting the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual variables of the family during pregnancy, childbirth, neonatal, and postpartum periods. Students will provide care within the acute care environment. This course includes 2.2 credit hours of theory (33 clock hours), and 0.8 credit hour of clinical (36 clock hours).
