3.1 Statement of Ownership

AdventHealth University, Inc. (University) - a wholly owned subsidiary of Adventist Health System/Sunbelt, Inc. (doing business as AdventHealth Orlando) - is operated by the University’s Board of Trustees (“Board”). The University’s Board elects Trustees for appointment to the Board subject to ratification by the membership.

The University’s Board is authorized to oversee the educational programs of the University.

3.2 Accrediting Bodies

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC)

AdventHealth University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award certificates, associate’s, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Questions about the accreditation of AdventHealth University may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is the accrediting agency that protects the interest of the public and PA profession by defining the standards for PA education and evaluating PA educational programs within the territorial United States to ensure their compliance with those standards.

ARC-PA Accreditation Status

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARCPA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the AdventHealth University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by AdventHealth University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be June 2029. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

3.4 Administration of the University

Chairman of the University Board of Trustees

The Chairman of the University Board of Trustees is elected by the members of the University Board.

President of the University

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the University and is responsible to the University Board of Trustees for all phases of the University’s operation.  The President chairs all business sessions of the President’s Council and is an ex-officio member of all standing and ad hoc committees.  In consultation with other University administrators, the President is responsible for recommending an annual budget to the University Board of Trustees and for the approval of all expenditures provided for in that budget.  The President also recommends to the Board an annual professional salary schedule for all University Faculty. As CEO, the President leads in the planning and execution of the institution’s strategic vision.

Provost

The Provost is responsible to the University President for the supervision and direction of all academic activities at the University, in collaboration with other academic administration. The Provost chairs the Academic Policies Committee and serves on several administrative committees.  

Senior Vice President for Finance

The Senior Vice President is responsible to the University President for the financial operations of the University including, but not limited to, student accounts, financial aid, and University financial records. This individual is responsible to the President for the day-to-day operational needs of the institution. The responsibilities of this position include the physical plant, maintenance, and environmental services. This individual is also responsible for the information technology department, the University bookstore, and the N.E.S.S. café. 

Senior Vice President for Operational Strategy and Learning

Reporting to the President, the Senior Vice President for Operational Strategy and Learning, supports the University’s mission by leading high standards of excellence in operational performance and optimization that directly impacts the learner. The SVP for Operational Strategy and Learning oversees AHU’s comprehensive suite of educational programs and services, including Admissions, Enrollment, Student Experience, Office of the Registrar, Online Academic Operations, the Denver Campus, and the academic departments of Healthcare Administration, Imaging Sciences, and Nursing. The SVP is also responsible for advising and collaborating with AHU’s Chief Academic Officer and C-suite executives on the development, deployment, and assessment of policy and programming, and adherence to accreditation standards. The SVP for Operational Strategy and Learning brings innovation and leadership to the development and execution of best-in-class strategies that enhance member and constituent engagement. 

Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Health & Biomedical Sciences

The Senior Vice President for Student Affairs is responsible to the President for the overall quality of student life on campus.  This individual has administrative responsibility for the Health and Biomedical Sciences Department, Library, student academic support services, counseling, pastoral care, community engagement, student discipline, student housing, campus safety and security. 

Vice President for Educational Technology and Innovation

The Vice President for Educational Technology and Innovation is responsible to the President for educational technology and innovation at the University. 

Vice President for Marketing & Business Development

The Vice President for Marketing and Business Development is responsible for branding and marketing strategies that attract qualified students to attend the university. This individual also engages in business development with AdventHealth and within the larger communities served by the university. Public relations, communications, exploring new academic programs, and advancing the university’s reputation is also included in their scope of responsibilities.

Assistant to the President for Mission

The Assistant to the President for Mission is responsible to the University President to oversee and implement the strategic initiatives to strengthen the mission and spiritual life on campus.

Chief Compliance Officer

The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible to the President to oversee institutional compliance with Federal and State regulations including Title IX sexual anti-discrimination and Campus SaVE Act anti-violence federal laws.

Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible to the President to align business objectives with employees and management in order to develop integrated solutions.  The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues while also acting as an employee champion and change agent.
