BIOL 475 - Issues in Science and Religion (3)Prerequisites: BIOL102, BIOL102L, ENGL102. Or permission of the department chair (BIOL 102 or 152). All prerequisites must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.00). This course is designed to help students develop an understanding of the issues raised by the interaction between modern science and present-day Christian thought. A brief historical overview of the conflict between science and religion is followed by an assessment of the contemporary state of the dialogue in such areas as cosmology and the origins of the universe, origins of life, the theory of Darwinian evolution, and the design argument.
