RELT 510 - Identity and Mission (2)



This course explores the relationship between spirituality and healthcare delivery. Emphasis is placed on viewing the patient and the caregiver from the perspective of persons made in the image of God and as children of God. Students will implement sustainable practices to maintain personal well-being based on CREATION Health. Students will integrate experiential knowledge in spiritual care giving, including active listening and presence. Topics may include: diverse religious perspectives on wellness, illness, and suffering, the relationship between spirituality and the mind and body, the role of faith-based healthcare, and select bioethical issues involving whole patient care.
