RELE 615 - Bioethics: Human Dignity and Human Flourishing (1)Prerequisites: RELE 505 Notions of human dignity and human flourishing are expressed in sacred and secular texts, and international conventions and agreements. This course explores relationship of these grounding concepts to the complex bioethics issues confronting health care providers and society, including the use of medical technologies for reproduction, aggressive care of neonates, organ procurement and transplantation, genetics advancement and enhancement, potential human-animal hybrids, medically assisted suicide, use of life-extension technologies, human experimentation, human embryonic research, and the phenomena of illness.
