HIST 212 - U.S. History II (3) This course is a survey of United States political, diplomatic, social, and cultural history from the Civil War until the present. The course will examine ideas, institutions, movements, and events that shaped United States history. Students will focus on major events such as Reconstruction, industrialization, world wars and conflicts, the Great Depression, and the Civil Rights Movement. Special attention will be placed on the following themes: race, ethnicity, gender, big business, politics, and technological innovation.
