Dual Degree: ASDMS/BSDMS

Eligibility and Application: 

  1. Current A.S. Diagnostic Medical Sonography students are eligible to apply for enrollment in the online BSDMS program after successful completion of their first trimester course work in the A.S. Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.  
  2. Eligible Students must complete the Dual Degree Declaration form and submit it to the Office of Enrollment Services. 

Progression:

  1. While enrolled in the A.S. degree, Diagnostic Medical Sonography students may concurrently enroll in general education courses within the BSDMS curriculum.
  2. At the completion of the ASDMS degree, students will continue to progress in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography, B.S.  degree. 
  3. Upon successful completion of the ASDMS degree and becoming credentialed in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, students are eligible to enroll in the BSDMS advanced imaging course work.
  4. Students who are unsuccessful at any time in the ASDMS program, will not be allowed to continue in the BSDMS coursework; without approval from the Department Chair.
  5. Students permanently dismissed from the ASDMS program will also be dismissed from the BSDMS program.  

Total General Education Requirements: 27


1 If RELT368 World Religions for the Health Professions was completed as part of an A.S. degree from ADU, RELE305 Ethics for Nursing and Allied Health must be taken to complete B.S. religion requirement.
