CHEM 111 - Survey of Inorganic Chemistry (3) A college level math course or two years of high school algebra with a minimum grade of “C” or permission of the department chair. This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of inorganic chemistry. Topics covered will include atomic and molecular structure; chemical bonding; stoichiometry; states of matter; chemical kinetics and acid-base equilibrium; acid-base equilibria and nuclear chemistry, within emphasis on the application of chemistry to everyday life. The course is designed for non-science majors, does not satisfy the requirement for a major or minor in chemistry, and cannot be used as a prerequisite for any other chemistry course. (Fall, Spring, Summer)
