NRSG 480 - Leadership and Management in Nursing for RNs (3)Prerequisites: NRSG 315 Online course available only to nurses enrolled in the RN-BSN program Fall 2012 and thereafter. All prerequisites must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.00). This course focuses on concepts and theoretical principles of nursing leadership and management applicable to the current healthcare environment. Students explore models related to time management, delegation, empowerment, conflict management, negotiation, and change as they relate to collaborative relationships and decision-making. Students also analyze trends and issues from a micro and global perspective to enhance an appreciation of stewardship of resources. This course includes three credit hours of theory (45 clock-hours). This course meets the requirement for a written communication course (see Communication Requirements in the Academic Section of the Academic Catalog).
