PHTH 718 - Patient/Client Management III: Therapeutic Exercise (5) This course presents the theory, scientific principles, and evidence for the use of various types of exercise employed by physical therapists for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of optimal health and physical function across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on basic exercise techniques related to muscle performance (including strength, power, and endurance) and stretching/flexibility activities. Previously introduced principles of tissue injury and repair are applied to therapeutic exercise interventions and progression. Evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning are emphasized throughout and practiced with clinical scenarios in the laboratory. Spring
