CHEM 101 - Principles of Chemistry (3) An introduction to the fundamental principles of inorganic, organic, and biochemistry. Topics covered will include atomic and molecular structure; chemical bonding; stoichiometry; states of matter; chemical kinetics; acid-base equilibria; hydrocarbons; carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins; and biochemical processes with emphasis on the application of chemistry to everyday life. This course is designed for non-science majors, does not satisfy the requirement for a major or minor in chemistry, and cannot be used as a prerequisite for any other chemistry course.
