HIST 211 - U.S. History I (3) This course is a survey of United States political, diplomatic, social, and cultural history from the period just before European settlement to the Civil War. The course will examine ideas, institutions, movements, and events that shaped United States history. Students will focus on topics such as Colonial America, the American Revolution, Jeffersonian Democracy, Slavery, and the Civil War. (Fall, Summer)
