PHTH 831 - Patient/Client Management: Neuromuscular I (4)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of all DPT Program coursework in prior terms. This courses examines the principles and application of the physical therapy patient/client management model to common neuromuscular pathologies including multiple sclerosis, basal ganglia system dysfunction, cerebellar dysfunction, post polio, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and cerebrovascular accident/stroke. Evidence-based examination, evaluation, diagnostic, prognostic, and intervention techniques are practiced in the lab and applied in instructor-selected case studies and patients. Critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills are also encouraged.
