BMLS 412 - Clinical Microbiology II (3)

Prerequisites: BMLS 411 , BMLS 411L  
Corequisite: BMLS 412L  
The epidemiology, pathogenesis and clinical illness caused by viral, parasitic, and fungal agents of infectious disease, and their culture, identification, and susceptibility testing by traditional biochemical techniques and molecular methods, are discussed. The laboratory portion (co-requisite) of this course is to teach microbiological techniques and to show students the impact of microbes on our daily lives and their central roles in the clinical setting.
