10. Code of Conduct

AdventHealth University (AHU) employees are covered by the Code of Conduct as it appears in the AdventHealth corporate and AdventHealth Orlando policies, rules and procedures which “sets forth the basic principles and guidelines for employees of AdventHealth and its subsidiaries. Although cause is not required for termination, violation of any AdventHealth or AHU policies, rules and procedures will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Employees of AHU are directed to the full statement of this Code of Conduct in the AdventHealth Employee Handbook and to the following summary of that code.
- We are committed to honoring all legal requirements. We shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. We shall be guided by the basic principles of honesty and fairness. We shall remain knowledgeable about pertinent laws and regulations.
- We are committed to ensuring accurate and reliable organizational records.
- We are committed to maintaining contacts with government officials and personnel in a professional manner, affirming the high integrity of the organization.
- We are committed to openness, honesty, and accuracy in billing for services.
- We are committed to carrying out our public and commercial communications in a manner consistent with our mission.
- We are committed to being cooperative and following instructions and/or performing assigned work.
- We are committed to refrain from disorderly conduct, horseplay, abusive, profane or offensive language or conduct on AHU premises or while conducting AHU business.
- We are committed to refrain from misconduct or physical/verbal abuse toward customers, visitors or employees.
- We are committed to not bringing weapons such as firearms, knives or explosives on campus or to University events.
- We are committed to be accurate and truthful in submitting time records, facility records, including application for employment, employee health documents or any facility reports (oral or written).
- We are committed to examining our practices and procedures in order to deal appropriately with any conflicts of interest which are present in our organization or which may arise therein.
- We are committed to avoid excessive tardiness or absenteeism, and will be at our work station at the start of the assigned times.
- We are committed to keep personal phone calls whether on the University’s telephones or cell phones to a minimum.
- We are committed to maintaining the privacy of student and employee information.
