Mission Statement
The department of religion and spiritual care mission is to advance the world-wide mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church to share the good news of the gospel. The department’s mission, as part of AdventHealth University, is particularly focused on the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, and the role they play in equipping healthcare professionals to integrate Christian faith and the values of the health sciences.
The department contributes to the University’s mission, vision, and values by primarily serving students in its 8 departments and 24-degree programs and through offering a graduate degree and certificates programs in religion. In addition, the department prepares spiritual care professionals to serve in various health care contexts and educational settings. Through scholarship the department faculty explore critical moral and ethical challenges healthcare professionals face in the everchanging and complex world of healthcare.
