DNAP 748 - Principles of Nurse Anesthesia of Patients with Co-existing Disease across the Lifespan, including Trauma & Transplant Populations (3)

Prerequisites: BIOL 716 , BIOL 732 , DNAP 700C , DNAP 720 , DNAP 725 , DNAP 730 , DNAP 738C  
Corequisite: DNAP 745C   
This course builds upon previous knowledge for students to plan and implement nurse anesthesia management in patients with co-existing diseases across the lifespan, including the geriatric and trauma populations. Anesthesia for complex procedures including neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, trauma surgery, and transplant surgery are discussed.  Emphasis is placed on the effects of moderate to severe pathophysiology and their implications for anesthesia administration.
