NRSG 140 - Fundamentals of Nursing and Community II (4)

Prerequisites: NRSG 105 , NRSG 130 , BIOL 102 , BIOL 225  
Corequisite: NRSG150 , NRSG 135  
This course continues to focus on the profession of nursing, the Neuman Systems Model, and the nursing process. Students will continue developing critical thinking and communication skills necessary for the professional practice of nursing. Additionally, the course will focus on the application of the nursing process in the provision of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention related to environmental stressors. Students will identify basic stressors affecting the variables of the adult patient in the acute care and long-term care environments. The course will continue to provide to opportunities for ASN students to learn the nursing procedures and psychomotor skills necessary in providing care to individuals throughout the life span. This course includes three credit hours of theory (45 clock hours), 0.3 credit of lab (15 clock hours), and 0.7 credit hour of clinical (30 clock hours).
