BSCT 528 - Data Mining with R and GIS Applications (2)

Prerequisites: BSCT 526  
This course is restricted to students officially accepted into Data Analytics academic offerings, including approved programs, minors, or certificates.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of data mining using R, with a special focus on geographic information systems (GIS) applications. Students will learn how to apply machine learning techniques, data visualization, and spatial analytics to extract insights from large datasets. Key topics include data preprocessing, classification, clustering, spatial data manipulation, and predictive modeling. Through hands-on projects, students will explore how data mining is used in fields such as healthcare, environmental science, and business analytics.
