BSCT 435 - Design Thinking for Program Evaluation (4)Prerequisites: BSCT 430 This course is restricted to students officially accepted into Data Analytics academic offerings, including approved programs, minors, or certificates.
This course explores the application of design thinking principles, focusing on data-driven evaluation of programs, policies, and interventions. Students will learn how to integrate human-centered approaches with quantitative and qualitative research methods to assess the effectiveness, feasibility, and impact of public health initiatives. Through case studies, hands-on activities, and collaborative projects, students will develop skills in stakeholder engagement, data synthesis, evaluation design, and iterative problem-solving. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply design thinking methodologies to conduct meaningful evaluations that inform evidence-based decision-making. Through case studies and applied research projects, students will develop the skills needed to translate research into actionable solutions, ensuring interventions are both evidence-based and responsive to community needs.
