NRSG 155 - Mental Health Nursing (2)

Prerequisites: NRSG 145 , NRSG 145C , NRSG 165 , NRSG 165C  
Corequisite: NRSG 150C   
This course builds on nursing principles and their application in delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing mental health challenges. Pharmacological interventions related to various mental health-illness conditions will be discussed and will include the actions of drugs, therapeutic and adverse effects, and food and interactions of select medications. Emphasis is placed on exploring various mental health-illness conditions and the nursing processes within the context of mental health care. The integration and application of knowledge and skills occur in simulated laboratories and clinical settings. This course will have 2 cr hr didactic (30 clock hours).
