NRSG 165 - Medical-Surgical Nursing I (4)

Prerequisites: NRSG 106 , NRSG 106L , NRSG 125 , NRSG 125L , NRSG 125C  
Corequisite: NRSG 165C  
This course further expands on nursing practice with application to adult and elderly patients with stable conditions.  Introduces pharmacology related to the actions of drugs, therapeutic and adverse effects, and food and interactions of these drugs used to treat stable acute and chronic illnesses. Various nursing and client educational content related to pharmacotherapy will be discussed.  Emphasis is placed on nursing content related to nursing care of diverse adult and elderly populations. Upon completion, students will demonstrate the ability to deliver safe, competent, and holistic care. This course will have 4 cr hr didactic (60 clock hours).
